What is Helios?

• Helios is an open-source platform enabling both web3 & traditional investment in profitable, high impact solar projects in emerging markets, earning users stable, double digit yields uncorrelated with crypto or public markets while averting millions of tons of CO2 emissions each year.
• Almost¹ anyone in the world can deposit funds into the Helios protocol. 100% of these funds are deployed to finance solar installations in emerging markets. These installations generate energy which is sold to businesses, and the profits from the sale of clean energy are returned to Helios users as yield/profit.

How does Helios work?

• At Helios, we like to keep things simple. Everyone should be able to understand exactly where their yield comes from. No spicy tokenomics, no complex algorithms, just profitable real-world business.
• As you can see in the diagram below: Users deposit USDC, Helios converts this to USD to fund real-world solar installations, these installations generate clean energy which we sell directly to our commercial customers, and the profits are returned to our users!
• 100% of USDC received goes directly to funding real world solar, and 100% of the protocol’s yield comes from the real-world sale of clean energy to multinational corporations governed by real-world Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts.

What is the Blended Pool?

• The Helios Blended Pool is a diversified portfolio consisting of ownership stakes in each of Helios’ regional pools. Each time a new pool is added, the Blended Pool will invest a portion of its funds into this new pool. By investing in the Blended Pool, users earn strong, stable yields backed by clean energy sales around the world.
• As a globally diversified portfolio, the Blended Pool is the safest and strongest pool on Helios, which we recommend² to all of our users.

What is HLSp?

• HLSp is the Helios Blended Pool’s liquidity token. Each HLSp is equivalent to $1 deposited into the Blended Pool. Unlike other Pools, the Blended Pool’s LP token can be exchanged on secondary markets like Aerodrome, dramatically increasing the liquidity of the token and effectively reducing the HLSp lockup period to 0. Users can both buy/sell HLSp on platforms like Aerodrome or deposit equal amounts of HLSp and USDC to generate even higher yields by providing liquidity to the trading pair.

Why is the purpose of crypto for Helios?

• The public perception of web3/crypto is primarily focused on speculation of volatile assets (bitcoin, memecoins, SBF, etc). We do not engage in any way with this side of web3. We believe the real value of web3 is its capability as an infrastructure layer.
